ATLANTA – This Saturday will see the 92nd clash between Georgia Tech and Duke, a rivalry that began in 1933. Currently, Georgia Tech holds a 55-35-1 advantage in the series. With postseason implications on the line, the Blue Devils will welcome the Yellow Jackets to Wallace Wade Stadium. Georgia Tech aims to maintain its momentum as it enters the second half of the season, hoping to keep its undefeated record intact. Under Brent Key’s leadership in his third season, the team has shown significant improvement, especially considering they haven’t reached eight wins since 2017. While the Yellow Jackets have a solid aerial game, their ground attack is particularly impressive, ranking second in the ACC for rushing yards. Their speedy offensive options put pressure on defenses, allowing quarterback King to effectively read coverage and exploit both speed plays and passing opportunities.

Georgia Tech is off to a strong start this season, remaining undefeated after winning its first six games for the first time since 2011. Last week, they secured a 35-20 victory over Virginia Tech, with quarterback Haynes King throwing for 213 yards and a touchdown, while also rushing for two more scores. The Yellow Jackets showcased their ground game, racking up 268 rushing yards, highlighted by running back Malachi Hosley, who had an impressive performance with 129 yards and a touchdown on just 11 carries.

This Saturday’s game is crucial for Duke, as their hopes of leading the ACC are on the line. The team is riding high after winning their last three games, including a solid 45-21 victory over Cal on October 4. Quarterback Darian Mensah had a standout performance, throwing for 265 yards and two touchdowns, while running backs Nate Sheppard and Anderson Castle each contributed with two rushing touchdowns in the win.

The Yellow Jackets have faced two tough road tests this season, managing to win both by a narrow total of just 4 points. In their only other outing as underdogs, they pulled off a close victory against Clemson at home, winning by 3 points. This upcoming game is expected to be competitive, especially with the Blue Devils coming off a bye week. However, the Yellow Jackets have the right components to secure a road win and potentially break into the top 10 next week. While Duke boasts a potent offense, they haven’t encountered many teams of Georgia Tech’s caliber this season. Although Duke will likely score against their foe, it may not be enough to clinch the win.
