With just one more win, Auburn can achieve a feat that has slipped through their fingers four times in the last six years: a 3-0 start.
Last week, the Tigers showcased their offensive prowess against Ball State, with quarterback Jackson Arnold throwing for 251 yards on an impressive 24-of-28 passing, including three touchdowns and no interceptions. Jeremiah Cobb contributed significantly with 121 rushing yards on just 11 carries, scoring twice, while Cam Coleman added 77 yards on seven receptions.
As they face the Jaguars, Auburn’s running game, led by Arnold and Cobb, looks formidable, especially given their strong offensive line. The Tigers are expected to apply consistent defensive pressure, which could stifle South Alabama’s passing game, despite their solid protection.
South Alabama lost a close game to Tulane, 33-31, last Saturday, dropping to 1-1 on the season. Currently, Auburn is a heavy favorite at -24.5, with an over/under set at 55 points. This will be the first meeting between the Tigers and Jaguars.
The final prediction leans heavily in Auburn’s favor, projecting a score of 45-7 against South Alabama.
