However, their defense faced challenges, allowing over 454 yards and 45 points to Western Carolina. Quarterback Nate Hampton, a transfer from Liberty, had a standout performance, throwing for 263 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 132 yards and four additional scores, instilling confidence in the team as they prepare for this FBS matchup in Week 2.

Georgia Tech will make its debut in Atlanta this week, entering the game with an undefeated record after a narrow 7-point win over Colorado.
