Georgia Tech started their season with a bang by defeating No. 10 Florida State in Dublin 24-21 in Week 0. It’s a shocking result as the Noles were favored by double digits in the lead up to this game. 

Georgia Tech should have the bodies to bully Georgia State in the trenches. Georgia State is replacing most of the offense. Expect both teams to lean on the rushing attack and see this game play out at a slow pace much like the Aer Lingus Classic did in Week 0.

Less than two miles apart and just a nine-minute drive between the two campuses, why is this the first ever MART BOWL? Georgia Tech will be hosting a “WHITE OUT” game and fan excitement should be swarming as the students section has sold out of all of their allotments. Expect around 45K-48K fans.

3. Georgia Tech’s offense will run the rock

On the offensive end, it was Georgia Tech’s ground game that set the tone. They should be able to dominate on the OL and churn out first downs with ease. Their ability to control the clock will pay off early this week.  Expect Jamal Haynes and Chad Alexander and Hanynes King to rush for close to 300 yards.

2. King & Pyron will both throw TDs

Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King is off to a hot start for the Yellow Jackets. However as Georgia Tech takes a two TD lead expect to see Zach Pyron in the game and expect both QBs to toss touchdown passes. 

1. The Yellow Jackets Defense will Swarm the Georgia State Panthers all game long

Georgia Tech looked like a physical group last week. They weren’t necessarily tested downfield but that is likely to be the case on Saturday too. After seeing how their front seven held up against Florida State in the opener, Georgia State isn’t likely to pose much of a threat as they try to run the ball. Expect the DL to control the line of scrimmage when they are on defense. Georgia State will find it hard to gain first downs.
