Looking at the toughest non-conference schedule among the Power-4 conferences in college football.

Choosing the top non-conference schedule from each P4 league in college football was a little more difficult than the Group of Five. There are about 10 college football teams worthy of this list. The metrics used for this list were: teams had to have at least two non-conference games against A4/P4 teams.
Here are the toughest non-conference schedules from each Power 4 college football conference in 2024.
1. Florida (SEC)
08/31 – Miami
09/07 – Samford
10/05 – UCF
11/30 – at Florida State
Kicking off their out of conference slate in week 1 is a home game versus Miami, the Gators will also do battle with UCF and travel to Florida State in non-conference action. They will play Samford of the FCS ranks during Week 2!
2. Georgia Tech (ACC)
08/31 – Georgia State
09/14 – VMI
10/19 – Notre Dame (Mercedes-Benz Stadium)
11/29 – at Georgia
Georgia Tech finished 2023 with its best record (7-6) since the 2018 season. They tied VT for fourth in ACC play with a 5-3 record. The Yellow Jackets will kick off its 2024 regular season in Dublin and then host Georgia State seven days later. If that is not a trap game I do not know what is. They host VMI of the FCS SOCON league during Week 3! They finish their non-conference matchups down the stretch against Notre Dame and Georgia.
3. USC (B1GTen)
09/01 – LSU (Allegiant Stadium)
09/07 – Utah St
11/30 – Notre Dame
Moving on over to the Big Ten alongside UCLA, Oregon, and Washington the USC Trojans have their work cut out for them from Week 1 until the end of the season. Kicking off the season in Las Vegas against LSU, the Trojans will battle Utah State at home and finish their out of conference schedule by hosting Notre Dame during rivalry week.
4. West Virginia (XII)
08/31 – Penn State
09/07 – Albany
09/14 – at Pitt
West Virginia will face the Penn State Nittany Lions to kick off its 2024 regular season, but the madness for the Mountaineers isn’t done there. West Virginia will also test its strength against the ACC’s Pitt Panthers during the 107th all-time Backyard Brawl matchup. The only break in their schedule will be against FCS Albany during Week 2.
